Be recognizable. Tell a story...

Telling a story is great, it may help you get the sale when you are in the boardroom, but what good is the story if you are not there to tell it when the customer picks up your product or literature.

Todays marketplace is vast when it comes to competition and value proposition. Consumers are looking for a connection. Connections like: Is it local, is it something that Mom would use, Dad used this stuff all the time... We all go through it. In the end there is always a story to go along with why you have picked something up and put it in your cart.

Tell a story and be recognizable. How do you do this? Well. Tell a story through everything you do. From the handshake to the packaging you should be telling a consistent story via visuals and content. Don't just tell them where it came from. SHOW THEM. Don't just suggest what the product does. SHOW THEM. Give your customers every reason to pick your product up time-and-time again. If you can get them [the customer] to rave about your business they will be sell for you... Make your customer the story teller and see how the snowball gets larger as it rolls. Maybe they will even become a part of the story that you tell—that, my friend, should be a testimonial your business strives for.
